Program Description:

CIEE Global Sustainability and Environment Program in Berlin, Germany

There's no better place to study sustainability than in Berlin. In the Global Sustainability and Environment Program you'll learn how Germany and Berlin became global leaders in sustainable development and experience first-hand the agents of change. In this dynamic program, expert instructors will discuss challenges facing the global and local environment and the important role that cities have to play. You'll learn about local solutions--both in the classroom and out in the city--exploring cutting-edge technology, strategies and policies, community initiatives, and new ideas to challenge the status-quo and build a sustainable future. You'll even have the chance to work on your own project and gain confidence in your own ideas.

Study abroad in Berlin and you'll:

  • Visit sustainable development projects, government agencies, and sites of environmental challenges and solutions
  • Hear from, and interact with, local environmental engineers, researchers, ecologists, sociologists, policymakers, and economists
