The University of Pecs study abroad program is a Direct Enroll Program.  

Direct Enroll programs are similar to exchange programs in duration, independence and academics.  Direct Enroll programs differ in that overseas students are not brought to Bloomsburg University.  Bloomsburg University students are responsible for all business related to applying, enrolling, finding housing, billing, etc.  BU Students will work directly with University of Pecs Study Abroad staff but have access to the Global Education Office staff if needed.

University of Pecs Tuition and Fees
The tuition and fees of the Study Abroad programs is determined by the chosen area of study while at the University of Pecs.  Tuition and fees range from 80 USD to 200 USD/ECTS credit per semester.  One course represents between 1-9 ECTS credits per semester.

Credit Transfer
One course represents between 1-9 ECTS credits per semester. One ECTS credit point in Hungary equals 30 working hours.

We advise you to discuss credit transfer with your home institution well in advance.The University of Pécs is happy to provide syllabi and reading lists for home institution approval.

At the end of your study period, we will produce a full transcript showing all the courses you have completed and all the grades you have earned.

Accommodation
University of Pecs provides Study Abroad students with accommodation in double rooms in one of our fully equipped Residence Halls. The cost of the dormitory is 150 USD/month.

Our Residence Halls have been renovated and meet the students’ requirements on the highest level. The rooms are non-smoking, nicely furnished and contain bathrooms. Bed linen is supplied and rooms are serviced regularly. Free Internet access is available.

Students can also consider private rental including shared houses or flats with other students. A wide variety of housing options is available in Pécs.

Living expenses
The costs of a stay in Hungary have generally been considered low by European standards.

swimming pool: The Pollack Swimming Pool is free for the students of the University, other swimming pools: HUF 800-2200 ≈ USD 2.7-7.4

The Hungarian currency is called Forint (HUF, or locally Ft). Forint bills come in 20,000, 10,000, 5,000, 2,000, 1,000, 500 HUF notes, coins are 200, 100, 50, 20, 10, 5 HUF. Credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) are usually accepted in malls, city centre restaurants and shops. Always check doors for logos of the credit.
