FEES

Course fee:  For summer 2018, 600.00  Euro (about $700). Tuition may change slightly depending on the currency exchange rate.
The fee includes:
- ca. 75 hours of classes (à 45 min.)
- ca. 12 hours conversation OR seminars
- final exam and certificate (CEFR)
- ca. 6 hours academic lectures
- Reception in the Trier Rathaus
- Welcome Dinner in the Restaurant Domstein
- a guided tour through the roman city of Trier
- 3 full-day excursions on Saturdays
- visit of a classical concert in the Roman Imperial Throne Room (Basilika)
 
Possible additional costs:
In addition to the above, the program offers numerous leisure activities (e.g. Barbecue, Beach volleyball, Karaoke, Board Gaming,
International Dinner, Hiking, etc.). In most of the activities there are no additional costs, but in a few they could be possible (e.g. for food or entrances).
 
Housing:  For summer 2018 - Accommodation in dormitory: approx. 280.00 Euro (will be paid AFTER arrival in Trier!) + 50 Euro (about $67) security deposit in addition to the basic room cost.   Housing costs may change slightly depending on the currency exchange rate.

Food:  Food costs vary widely.  There is no meal plan as we know it, the university dining halls offer a wide variety of midday meals at a low price. Otherwise, students generally prepare their own meals in the dormitory. $300 easily covers on-campus dining or preparation of meals in the dormitory.

Transportation:  Transportation refers to round-trip flight from Philadelphia to Frankfurt am Main plus a round-trip railway ticket between the Frankfurt airport and the main train station in Trier.

Health insurance: Health insurance is required and is purchased upon arrival at the University of Trier for approximately $50.

Miscellaneous:   travel insurance, passport and visa fees, other incidentals.
